Another project completed!

I finished the nightgown for my daughter after we put the kids to bed last night. It feels great to have another project finished and moved out of my tiny sewing room!

I can’t decide if I really like the ruffled eyelet trim around the arm openings, but my daughter is excited about it! My plan was to use the simple white bias tape that is around the neckline for the arm openings too, but I saw the ruffled trim in my fabric stash and decided to use it for this project.

The front has six pleats to give some shape to the bodice while still allowing the nightgown to be comfortable. I like the simplicity of this pattern and I think I will use it again in the fall to make a long-sleeved flannel nightgown for my daughter to use in the winter.

Now it is really time to get back to working on the quilt for my sister and her husband’s wedding gift. I think I can tentatively plan to have it completely finished – the rest of the piecing, long-arm machine quilting, and binding – by the end of May.
