Picking up where I left off

Wow. The days are busy right now and fly by fast.

I didn’t sew last weekend because I was too exhausted. Our youngest is a poor sleeper to begin with, and adding in teething has made nights even worse. On Saturday and Sunday I napped when I could.

This means the quilt for my sister has been stuck in the same place for a handful of days.

I did some mending on Monday this week but that was it for projects.

The good news is that it is still early in May. I am going to keep picking up where I leave off on the quilt project and work towards meeting my goal of finishing it this month.

Yesterday I sewed briefly in the morning, but had to stop fairly quickly to take care of things with the kids. After dinner the older kids were playing with Duplo blocks upstairs so I sewed two more rows onto the quilt while my husband played with our youngest.

It felt great to keep making progress on the quilt!

Yesterday evening my sister and I planned to go on a walk after I put the kids to bed, but it was really cold so we didn’t walk for long.

However, she brought the fabric for another baby quilt she is making with her so we had project time together after our walk. While she cut fabric I sewed two more rows onto the quilt.

All the short sewing sessions are adding up. I only have three more rows to add to the quilt top now.

My mom is visiting us later this morning and often she takes the kids for a walk while I clean or sew or read. If they do go on a walk today I will use that time to try to finish the last three rows of the quilt top.

I will report back later with how much I actually get done today. I never quite know what to expect from the day with three young children to keep tabs on!
